Makama: We are gradually making progress

Nasarawa United midfielder Emmanuel Makama hopes the team's goalless draw at Heartland will be the beginning of better things for the Lafia-based side in the current Nigeria Premier League campaign.

The Mohammed Baba Ganaru-tutored Solid Miners took full advantage of the stuttering form of the Naze Millionaires to pull-off a 0-0 draw in a week 5 NPFL tie at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday, and the schemer feels it is a sign of progress.

"We had set two targets last week, but thank God the team picked one point in Owerri, after several dubious calls by the referee denied us at least a point against Bayelsa United in Sapele," he told a reliable international medium.

"The team is gradually taking shape. There is nothing stopping us from grabbing total victory in the week 6 match against Crown FC at the Lafia Township Stadium.

Asked if he believes Baba Ganaru's technical skills had rob-off on the team, he said: "Sure we have the rare chance of working with a good coach like Baba Ganaru. On a general level, he has been inspirational since he came on board," the player confessed
