NAIJA PLAYERS XPLOITS ABROAD


At the Hawthorns,West Brom made use of home advantage,winning 2-1 against Capital One Cup Kings,Swansea.Super Eagles striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie replaced Romelu Lukaku in the 81st minute of action.


QPR boosted their survival battle with a well deserved 3-1 win over Sunderland.Nedum Onuoha was an unused substitute but found joy at being on the winning side.

Fortuna Dusseldorf  ended up succumbing to the firepowers of Bayern Munich on Saturday.Nigerian-born defender  Leon Balogun impressed despite coming-up against a tough customer in David Alaba.It was a sad end as his team lost 3-2 to the runaway leaders.

Astra Giurgiu annihilated FC Brasov three-nil on Saturday.Kehinde Fatai capped a wonderful show with a 61st minute strike.He was on for 90 minutes.

Stade Tunisien were held to a scoreless draw in a classic match against Etoile du Sahel.Orok Akarandut was on for the length and was often dangerous when he had the chance to express himself.
