Angels continued their unbeaten start to the Nigeria Women Premier League season - with a one-all draw against Ibom Angels at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The two clubs last met in Owerri and the encounter ended 11-10 after a marathon session of penalties.
Lanky Falconets midfielder Asisat Oshoala gave Rivers Angels the lead in first half stoppage time - as she profited from Chichi Sandra's spilled save. It was her third goal of the campaign.
The hosts came back with full force after the interval and were the better side until they got their reward in the 64th minute - when dead ball specialist Bessy Obot got the equaliser from the penalty spot.
The two goalkeepers of the high flying sides (Sandra Chichi and Charity John) denied the attackers with some point blank saves much to the delight of the watching spectators in Uyo.
Rivers Angels are still on top of the league ladder with 15 points, with Ibom Angels trailing them in second place with 13 points after seven round of games.
Head coach of Ibom Angels Austin Udoinyang believes the officiating was not fair.
"The two teams have good qualities but Ibom Angels are a goodside and always rise up to the occasion,'' he said.
"But the officiating was not fair,'' Udoinyang concluded.
Rivers Angels' stand-in coach, White Ogbonda expressed happiness with the result.
"It was an excellent performance from the girls. They tried their best to pick a point away from home,'' he began.
"The home team applied more pressure in the second half because they had the advantage playing in front of their fans,'' Ogbonda added.
