Barcelona now face Zürich, who augmented their first-leg advantage when 18-year old left-back Karin Bernet led a swift counterattack and sent a beautifully curled cross for Mirjine Selimi, 16, to meet with a precise header into the top right-hand corner. Sparta were being allowed little space by the well-organised visiting defence but the second-half introduction of Lucie Hloupá helped their cause.
Iva Mocová scored from distance on 66 minutes to give them hope but, even though Sparta kept up the pressure after they lost Tereza Krejčiříková to a red card, Zürich held on.
