Rangers' Sani reveals injury nightmare, targets Sharks return

Enugu Rangers striker Sanusi Sani has spoken of his frustration after missing three months of the Nigerian Premier Football League season with a knee injury.

The 19-year-old has featured in just two league matches for Rangers since joining from Gombe United, with the knee injury sustained during the Confederation Cup clash with Club Africain ruling him out of action for the past three months.

Having made a full recovery, the Nigeria international is keen to get a run-out when the Flying Antelopes do battle with Sharks at the weekend as they bid to qualify for continental competition.

"I came to Rangers with high expectations, but the injury has limited my contributions to our campaign," he said.

"It took a while before my clearance was sorted out after my move from Gombe, then I played only two matches in the league before copping a knee injury in the Confederations Cup against Club Africain.

"It has taken about three months to fully recover from the injury and it hasn't been easy for me to watch from the sidelines during this period.

"I have not enjoyed my game this season, but I take consolation that we are still in contention for a continental place.

"I look forward to helping my club win the remaining matches to achieve our target.

"I hope to play the game against Sharks, and then we'll see how it goes from there."
