The Nigeria Football Federation has been urged to adopt a neutral ground for the 2012/ 2013 Nigeria Women Football League Super Six Play-Offs, used to determine the champions of Female Football in Nigeria.
The Team Manager of the Cross River state-owned Women outfit Pelican Stars, Ali Ita has appealed to the NFF to reverse it choice of Bayelsa State as host of the annually scheduled Women's Super-Six Play-Offs.
The teams expected to feature in the Nigeria women football fiesta are defending champions, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Ibom Angels, Pelican stars, FC Robo and Federation Cup title holders, River Angels.
The Super Six Play-Offs was earlier billed for Samson Siasia Stadium from October 20th to 26th. It was postponed as a result of the engagements of Golden Eaglets and Falconets.
Ita called on the Aminu Magari led NFF and Nigeria Women Football League board chaired by Dilichukwu Onyedinma to reconsider it choice of Bayelsa as host for the sake of providing sincere competition and avoidance of the increasing host and win syndrome.
He added that with Bayelsa hosting the event, it will provide the Moses Adikwu-led girls huge advantage ahead of other teams.
"We are appealing to the NFF and NWFL board to get us an alternative venue for the Super Six play-offs, as the choice of Bayelsa as hosts will not provide good competition as Bayelsa Queens will have better advantage to other teams participating in the tournament.
We have to guard against the host and win syndrome," says the Cross River state-born women football manager.
