Goal Is For My Twins Says Osaze

The high point of the Super Eagles clash with Dragons on Saturday in their second Group F fixture was Peter Odemwingie's goal which arrived after 29 minutes.

The Stoke City forward netted his first goal at the World Cup since he first pulled on a Nigeria jersey at the showpiece event against Argentina on June 12 in Johannesburg.

Before Peter Odemwingie ended his barren run, he had gone 124 minutes without scoring, having failed to find the back of the net in earlier matches against Argentina, Greece and Iran.

The Nigeria number 8 has dedicated his goal to his children, whom he has a special relationship with.
''The goal was dedicated to our newborn kids, Theo and Chimamanda. Welcome to the world,'' Peter Odemwingie said on Twitter.

One of the flagship players to have worn the jersey of Bendel Insurance, Odemwingie was officially recognized for his outstanding display against Bosnia by being named Budweiser Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles returned to their base camp at Campinas around 2.30 am local time on Sunday.

In preparation for the vital game with Argentina in three days’ time, the squad will train this evening at Estádio Brinco de Ouro.
