Top Agent Happy With Ejike's World Cup Recall

Mohammed Lawal, the South Africa based manager of Enugu Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi, was delighted with the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation and the technical crew to include his client in the 23-man squad.

Concerned about the fitness of  Elderson Echiejile, who picked up a muscle injury in the Super Eagles penultimate friendly against Greece, the Monaco fullback has been replaced by Mamelodi Sundowns - bound Uzoenyi.

''It's sad for Elderson to miss the World cup the way he did, but I am very excited for Ejike Uzoenyi for making it to the World Cup.

''He was part of the qualifiers and I hope he gets the chance to proof himself to the world,'' says a delighted Mohammed Lawal to SL10..ng

Primarily a left winger, the versatile Uzoenyi can be handy at left back, and has played in that emergency role for his domestic clubs Enugu Rangers, Enyimba and Gateway.

The African Nations Championship Most Valuable Player has been capped 20 times for Nigeria
