Clash With Argentina Will Be Very Tough Says Super Eagles Skipper

Ahead of Wednesday’s group decider against Argentina, Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo has predicted a tough encounter against the South Americans.

Surprisingly, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will finish top of group F if they beat Argentina despite a poor start to the tournament, in which they recorded a drab 0-0 draw against Iran in their opening fixture.

And it is on that premise, that Yobo has predicted a tough battle against the former world champions.

Hear him “I think it’s going to be a tough one against Argentina. We know they’re a very good side and we respect them.

“But there is confidence flowing in our team now. After the game against Bosnia, we now believe more in ourselves. We just have to play well, I know it’ll be a tough and exciting game.” Yobo said.

Yobo, who will make his 100th cap against the Albiceleste if he plays also insists that the Super Eagles have got a lot to give – not only against Argentina, but in the tournament.

“This is the world cup and anything can happen. A lot of people don’t reckon with us but we will do very well. We will go into our next games with confidence and hopefully we will get something from this world cup.” He enthused.
