Super Uche in scoring form again

Former Getafe star Ikechukwu Uche netted the only goal to hand Villarreal a slim one-nil against Almeria, who paraded another former youth captain, Ramon Azeez.


The Nigerian international who grabbed his sixth goal in three games after hitting a third minute opener for Villarreal bagged 90 minutes of action and was yellow carded in the 47th minute.


Uche gave the visitors an early lead in the opening third minute after latching on to a Giovanni dos Santso’ pass before Bruno made it 2-0 for the home side from the spot with three minutes left on the clock.

His compatriot on the opposite side Azeez who sat out last Tuesday’s defeat in the Copa del Rey also starred for the entire duration of the encounter but was unable to help his side avoid the defeat.

The three points sees Villarreal into fourth spot, 13 points off the top spot Barcelona after 20 La Liga fixtures while Azeez and his team-mates sit one place above the bottom three with 19 points from the same number of games.
