Nicholas Ajose scored in his third league match in a row, but this time his side lost 5-4 to Oldham Athletic.
Peterborough started the match exceptionally well. Assombalonga, Rowe and Tomlin scored in the first half and left the hosts stunned heading to the dugout for half-time break. But as Super Eagles proved yesterday that three-goal lead is not impossible to break, Oldham started to fight back and after nine minutes made it 2-3 thanks to goals from Harkins and Worrall.
On 63 minutes, Ajose scored one of the easiest goals in his career, when he picked up a throw-in inside Oldham's penalty box and tapped the ball into empty net, as the hosts goalkeeper and one of the defenders misunderstood each other and did not rush to collect the loose ball.
Wesolowski responded for Oldham four minutes later to make the score 3-4 and with Peterborough needing just a couple of minutes to secure the victory, Tomlin was forced to intentionally stop a header with his hand on the goal-line to concede a penalty and receive the red card.
Harkins made no mistake from the post and equalised. It was not end of the visitors' drama, as Kusunga took advantage of five minutes added on and scored the winner in the 94th minute to leave Ajose and his teammates speechless.
Despite the loss, Peterborough are still in contention for pomotion play-off as with 45 points they are 7th.
