Women Football: Falconets and Ghana U20 to represent Africa in Canada

Ghana and Nigeria will represent Africa at the 2014 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Canada in August. It will be the third consecutive time that both nations will represent Africa at the two-yearly tournament.

Ghana and Nigeria also flew the African flag at the 2012 edition of the tournament in Japan and the 2010 edition in Germany.

The Ghanaians booked their place after beating Equatorial Guinea 4-3 on penalties on Sunday in Accra. Both teams had deadlocked 1-1 on aggregate.

Earlier, Nigeria was the first to qualify after beating South Africa by a lone goal in Johannesburg, thus picking the ticket 7-0 on aggregate.
