Ali was a force in the midfield for the Super Eagles, conducting play, breaking up Morocco’s attack as well as adding an attacking threat on goal with his shots from range and set-pieces.
He also scored the second of Nigeria’s four goals on the afternoon and it is his performance in the middle of the park which saw him branded the Man of the Match.
Ali has been a catalyst in Stephen Keshi’s Nigeria team and he will no doubt continue to be in the semifinals.
