Higuain hopeful of catching up with Juventus

Gonzalo Higuain has reflected that Napoli still have room to improve, but doesn’t rule out catching Juventus.

The Vesuviani are approaching the midway point in the League season sat third in the table and 10 points behind leaders Juve.

On from holding an open training session at the Stadio San Paolo attended by as many as 20,000 fans, the team’s leading forward reflected on the challenge ahead in re-entering the title race.

“This was a welcome surprise for us, and also for them to be able to watch us. It was a good training session, very happy, a great day,” enthused Higuain, before turning his attention to this weekend’s match at Verona.

“We know that with Verona it will be a heavy encounter because they are fifth and are having a great season.
“It will be a tough match, but we will play our game and we hope to win.

“Our objectives? This is the first year, the team have changed its formation and the players, the fans need to be patient and wait.

“Against Samp we played a great game, which after the winter break can be difficult. We can improve so much, we are just at the beginning.

“Can we look to the title? First we must look at Roma, who are just two points ahead. We need to surpass Roma first and then we can look at Juve.

“I have seen many things in football, why can’t we catch Juve? There are still plenty of points up for grabs, so why not?”
