Coach of Le Sao of Chad, Emmanuel Tregoat has told News24 they will
try not to concede too many goals when they face Nigeria’s Super Eagles
in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations today in Kaduna.
The French coach says his team will try to contain Nigeria for the most part of the match and try to hit on the break.
“We are to learn,” he told News24, “My players play in small teams in Europe or Chad, which is unlike the players we will face on Saturday, as they are very good players.
“We have trained not to win but to draw at least because if we let the game flow it will be difficult for us and Nigeria could score as many as five or six goals.
“But we have to try to contain them because the Chadian players are very good physically and mentally and so we will try to hit on the break,” he told News24.
Tregoat however added that his game will not be ultra-defensive as they will also try to attack Nigeria.
“It’s not going to be a defensive tactics,” he said, “We can’t just defend for 90 minutes, we have to also attack but at the beginning we will try to let them have more of the ball,” he added.
