Defensive midfielder Ayooluwa Adetola has hailed his TEAP team-mates who displayed a superb second half fightback against Kwara United - as the home team rescued a 2-2 draw on Thursday.
Donald Malomo's side looked
destined for a defeat at the Old Parade Ground after the Afonja Warriors raced into a
two-goal lead within the first 36 minutes thanks to a goal each from Lateef Adigun and Segun Alebiosu.
But the David's Army struck twice in the second stanza as Kabgat Andrew reduced the deficit before Angel Ameh's first goal for the club ensured that the two teams settled for a draw.
Ayooluwa, who was the commander in the midfield for the Redeemers said: "In the second half we were fantastic. We were really resolute.
"The technical crew spoke about making changes at half-time but they decided to wait a bit after the tactical substitution by them in the 28th minute. The three of them (Kapgat Angrew, Friday Achimugwu and Angel Ameh) have been good players for us all season and they made a huge difference.
"I thought Angel Ameh aka Di Maria took the game by the scruff of the neck as well. He was terrific."
On his man-of-the match performance in the tie, the soft-spoken enforcer preferred to give God the glory for the accolade.
''This game reminds me of the Niger Tornadoes match, where I was voted the best player. But unlike the Tornadoes clash, we drew. In all, I give glory to God, the midfielder told futbalgalore.blogspot.com via a telephone conversation.
