Nigerian-born forward seeks showdown talks with Romanian giants

After CFR Cluj's 1-0 win over Brasov, Derick Ogbu, who netted the match winner, did not mince words, after admitting that he might depart the Romanian club this summer if their balance sheet don't improve.

''The financial situation of the club has been the main setback for me; players are not paid for five months. Such an ugly situation affects everyone and the players are not motivated,” Derick Ogbu said to SL10.ng.

''CFR Cluj are one of the biggest clubs in Romania and it's so sad to see such a top club in Europe having financial problems.''

While the Nigerian striker is fully focused on the remaining two games of the season, he is set to hold showdown talks with the management of the three-time Liga 1 champions on an amicable solution to the impasse when the league is concluded.

''At the moment I am focusing on the last two games, hoping to score more important goals and finish the season as the club top score, then I can arrange to sit down with the management.''

''For me it's impossible to continue next season under such situation, something has to change, we will see after the last two games,'' he concluded.

The 24-year-old is still contractually bound to CFR Cluj until June 30, 2016, but football's governing body, FIFA, permits players to unilaterally terminate their contracts with just cause if they are owed three months wages.
