Kwara United, TEAP shares spoils in thrilling encounter

Angel Ameh scored a timely equaliser as TEAP FC deservedly held Kwara United to a 2-2 draw at the Old Parade Ground earlier today.

The match which was originally fixed for yesterday, was postponed as a result of the heavy downpour at the nations Federal Capital Territory.

Penalty specialist Lateef Adigun calmly netted from the spot to give the Afonja Warriors the lead in the 25th minute. His shot gave Friday Achimugwu in goal for TEAP with no chance.

United were really on top of their game, replicating their recent home form in the away tie as promised by Coach Samson Unuanel.

The rampaging Segun Alebiosu made it two-nil, thereby forcing Donald Malomo to make an early substitution, thus he introduced Sunny Apoche to shore-up a faltering defence.

Ex-Giwa striker Kabgat Andrew woke the Abuja based team from slumber with a 56th minute effort, as the pressure began to tell on the away team.

But skillful dazzler Angel Ameh fired past Suraj Ayeleso to earn a dramatic late point.

It provided a thrilling finish to a high-quality match and prevented TEAP from moving away from the relegation zone.

The promotion chasing United were reduced to ten men in the closing stages with Adigun getting the marching orders.

TEAP could even have won the match after Angels' equaliser, but United's defence held their own to earn a positive result.
