Akinmoyo: COD Ladies Will Be Contenders

Newly-promoted COD United Ladies will be hoping to pick three points when they host fellow newcomers Capital City Doves at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

Having drawn their first game against Edo Queens and lost in the away fixture against Sunshine Queens, the Amazons will impress and also pick a resounding victory, according to the Team Manager of the clubs Victor Akinmoyo.

''We were unlucky not to pick the three maximum points in our first match against Edo Queens. The girls dominated possession and played good football. And in the 3-0 loss in Akure, the red card affected our performance,'' Akinmoyo told women league reporter Ademetan Abayomi on Saturday.

''The technical crew led by Ann Chiejine recruited a pool of young and talented players before the season started. For us the girls have what it takes to kick-start their campaign with a resounding victory over the FCT girls. We will be contenders at the end of the 2014/15 Nigeria Women Premier League season,'' the young administrator continued.

Akinmoyo then urged supporters of the club to keep the spirit and keep on believing in the team.

The week three encounter between COD United Ladies and Capital City Doves will get underway by 4pm in Agege on Sunday.
