Zamalek have set the wheels in motion in their bid to sign Super Eagles striker Mfon Udoh from Enyimba.
Nigeria Professional Football League vice- champions Enyimba have been playing hardball over the sale of Mfon Udoh by slapping a $1.2 million price tag on the prolific forward.
But Zamalek are ready to test The People’s Elephant resolve to hang on to the Nigeria international with an initial bid of $500,000 for him.
Negotiations are at an advanced stage, with a representative of Enyimba, Mfon Udoh and his minders expected to travel to Egypt in the coming days to thrash out personal terms with The White Knight.
If Zamalek are really interested in closing the deal in the next few weeks, they must act fast as Premier League rivals Al - Malsry have also opened a line of communication with Udoh’s camp.
The deal taking the highly rated hitman to Zamalek is being brokered by Egyptian Omah Sameh in partnership with Nigeria Federation licensed intermediary Joel Buade.
Mfon Udoh was heavily courted by Belarusian side Dinamo Minsk in the winter transfer market but the deal collapsed at the last minute.
