Exclusive: Flamingoes to engage in top class friendlies

Nigeria U17 have the likes of Colombia, Mexico and China to contend with in the Pool D of Costa Rica U17 Women's World Cup.

Nigeria Football Federation have finalised preparations for the team's World Cup programmes this week, announcing a string of friendlies as Bala Nkiyu considers how to create a harmonious atmosphere in his camp.

Emmanuel Ikpeme, a board member of the soccer governing body in Nigeria told futbalgalore.blogspot.com that the team will be expected  to play a friendly against Nasarawa Amazons before the week runs out. The match is fixed for Lafia.

A friendly with Bayelsa Queens in Yenogoa will follow, before games against Rivers Angels, Delta Queens and some other tough teams in the Nigeria Women Premier League.

Bala's squad will then travel to an unnamed European nation for a pre-tournament training camp, stopping off in a northern city to play against Spain and Italy.

''The girls didn't kick a ball to qualify for Costa Rica 2014, and you will agree with me that they need to engage top sides in order to know their readiness for the mundial, he said.
