ROSELL PLANNING ONE MORE TERM AS BARCA'S SUPREMO

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has announced he intends to run for office once more in 2016.

The 49-year-old, who was first elected to the position in 2010, confirmed his intentions at a meeting of the club's senior board members and believes Barca can continue to flourish under his leadership.

"It is my intention to present myself for re-election in 2016, to ask the members to again give us their confidence to complete making good the challenges we still face," Rosell said at a club meeting.

"Among us all, we must build the future that Barca deserve, we must keep being a club that stand out for their style of play, their management, their values and who are concerned with their country.

"We want to keep growing, and we are on a good path. We are full of excitement for the present and the future that awaits us.

"We must keep watering the garden at La Masia, keep backing a model of play which maintains sporting excellence, work to strengthen our finances and offer our members the best proposals to have a stadium at the standard of our team. These challenges for the future excite us a lot."

Rosell spoke about his administration's cutting of the club's debt from 431 million euros to 298 million, but insisted they must continue to reduce the figure.

"We inherited a very delicate situation and we guaranteed part of the budget with our own personal resources," he said.

"This year we are on a good path, but our challenge remains to reduce the debt. We must keep working together to continue being the best club in the world."
