FC ROBO 1-0 CONFLUENCE QUEENS

FC Robo defeated Confluence Queens 1-0 in Surulere on Wednesday, in a rescheduled Nigeria Women Football League clash.

The Emmanuel Osahon managed side have 9 points, from six matches in the current campaign.

Team skipper Uchegbu Chindinma Anita told futbalgalore.blogspot.com how she felt after playing such a difficult match at the Legacy Pitch.

"It wasn't an easy game but we were determined to win and we d. I am also happy with my form and I hope to continue like this. I won't relent and I will keep working hard," Chidinma said.

The experienced Lokoja girls took the game to their youthful hosts with their careful build up and time wasting approach. It was obvious that they were satisfied sitting back and trying to get a draw.

The FC Robo captain almost took the lead after releasing a 30-metre shot in the 16th minute of play.

The positives of the game were the centre halves of the Lagos based side, Kehinde Akinwande and Lovina Okafor, as they both formed a perfect understanding at the back.

In the 77th minute, a short corner kick by Chidinma was met by substitute Amirat Adebisi, who sent a dummy to the opponent's box. It was a good way to reward the outstanding Rashidat Ajibade, who blazed a left footed shot to the far corner of the post.
