Ikare United dares Flying Eagles

The Manu Garba-tutored U20 national side will continue their buildup to a 2015 AYC qualifier in Tanzania with another warm-up match against Ikare United of Ondo State on Wednesday by 7am.

The Flying Eagles have been putting final touches to their AYC qualifier against Tanzania slated for the weekend of May 9-11.

Training has been fiercely competitive as all the players in the team’s training squad have been doubling up so as to make the final cut for the trip to Tanzania.

In Monday evening training, Manchester City midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali needed four stitches around his mouth after he was elbowed to show how the intensity of the training has risen.

FC Porto youngster Chidera Eze has resumed fully with the squad after he nursed a hamstring strain soon on his arrival from his Portuguese base.

The Flying Eagles are due to depart Abuja for Lagos on Friday with a 20-man squad.

They are billed to take on Benin Republic in Porto Novo on Sunday in another international warm-up before they jet out for Tanzania from Lagos.
