Gyang secures successive win for Giwa

Giwa FC continued in their new found winning form by beating Akwa United 1-0 at the Rwang Pam Stadium in a Premier League midweek match.

Amos Gyang Dadun got the game's only goal in the 10th minute finishing off a fine team move after missing a sitter 5 minutes after the start.

The goal was the separation points between the teams heading into the half time break.

The League leader Akwa United appeared for the second half with a game plan tailored to win free kicks in the opponents half for free kick specialist Nnamso Edo the league top scorer and dead ball specialist to capitalise but he was surprisingly wasteful.

Giwa who have been unbeaten since parting ways with Abdul Bidemi Biffo refused to cave in, but for some level of complacency from Edoh Ocheme they could have been two goals up with 15 minutes to go.

Giwa did manage to hang on to the one goal advantage to frustrate the Uyo Boys and extended their unbeaten run to four games.
