Al Gharafa brush aside Al Sadd to win Qatar Women Football League

Al Gharafa Ladies strolled to a comfortable 3-1 win over highly-fancied Al Sadd Ladies on Sunday evening to win the 2013/14 Qatar Women's Football League.

Midfielder Favour Uzor created a brace of assists for the winning team, while Blessing Kalu and Soo Adekwagh scored one each.

But the highlight of the match was Dikachi Uzor's acrobatic penalty save, thus confirming her growing stock in the round leather game.

Gharafa were in front after 18 minutes from the first of Favour's assists, before Soo added the second in the 26th minute.

Al Sadd who were without their best player Okwaraji Ogechi were awarded a  penalty but the in-form former Delta Queens number one goalie saved with ease.

But they also scored to reduce the tally as the game progressed.

After the break, a well laid corner kick from Favour was blasted into the waiting net by Blessing Kalu who completed the exercise with the third goal.

Dikachi wrote on her official facebook wall (https://m.facebook.com/dikachiuzor?refid=12): “It is possible only through the grace of God. Lord I thank you for your favour.

“I dedicate this trophy to Jehovah, for making my club Al-Gharafa to emerge the winners of the Qatar Women's Football League. Lord I say may your name be praised forever more, the excited goalkeeper said.
