Meshack: Rangers will fly

Enugu Rangers will compete in the 2013/2014 Globacom Nigeria Premier League, and a key player of the team is rearing to perform for them.

Meshack Chukwubuikem feels ambitious and is looking forward to the new campaign. When asked whether he thought that it was more important to score more goals or play more, he was clear:

“The two things are important and if you have more time on the pitch, you have the opportunity to score more goals”.

About Cyril Oriaku, who was named the skipper of the Flying Antelopes, he said: “He seems a good leader, motivator, giving a lot of advice as always and is eager to win".

Meshack netted 7 goals despite joining the Enugu outfit in the mid season.

“Most of the goals were scored from the bench. I really want to start matches this season and hopefully make a name for myself.

About being in the same squad as Christian Obiozor, Emmanuel Daniel and Dada Bitrus, Meshack said: “I am very happy because, not only are we teammates, but when we had free time we were together. It is a pleasure because we are teammates and friends.

Meshack was asked about the former coaching staff and did not want to make comparisons: “Making comparisons is not polite. I have a lot of respect for the former coach (Okey Emordi). Sam Obuh has come here eager and enthusiastic and everything that he can contribute is positive”.
