Ghana drops big names for Japan Friendly

Ghana, which on Friday reached the final round of the African qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, has dropped several top players in its squad that will face Japan in a friendly in Yokohama Tuesday.
According to local media reports on Sunday, the team named by coach Kwesi Appiah does not include Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, among others.
Ghana, which beat Zambia 2-1 in their final second round game in the African qualifiers on Friday, will use the friendly as part of its preparations for the third round playoffs, due to be played over two legs in October and November.
Following is the full list of players for the Japan friendly:
Goalkeepers: Fatau Dauda (Orlando Pirates, South Africa), Razak Braimah (Guadalajara, Spain)
Defenders: Samuel Inkoom (Dnipro, Ukraine), Daniel Opare (Standard Liege, Belgium), Harrison Afful (Esperance, Tunisia), Kissi Boateng (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), John Boye (Rennes, France), Jonathan Mensah (Evian, France), Rashid Sumaila (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa)
Midfielders: Rabiu Mohammed (Kuban Krasnodar, Russia), Yussif Raman Chibsah (Sassuolo, Italy), Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough, England), Solomon Asante (TP Mazembe, DR Congo) Christian Atsu (Vitesse Arnhem, Holland), Frank Acheampong (Anderlecht, Belgium)
