Turkey: Lawal and Ozokwo edge Agbetu, Sani and Olorundare

Raheem Lawal and Nduka Ozokwo's Mersin Idmanyurdu prevailed two-nil against Akeem Agbetu, Sani Gideon and Dele Olorundare's Tavsanli Linyitspor, in a Turkish Division One week 7 match played on Saturday at the Tefvik Sirri Gur Staddi.

The five Nigerians were all handed starter shirts by their respective coaches.

Mehmet Yildiz put Mersin ahead when he headed home 18 minutes to the end of the match. It was a great way to finish a move started by former Rangers winger Nduka Ozokwo.

Former Sunshine Stars striker, Dele Olorundare and Akeem Agbetu went close to equalising but they were denied by Mahmut Bezgin in Mersin's goal.

Mersin Idmanyurdu had to wait until late on to ensure a fourth win in six league games when Emrah Bezkut scored in injury time.

Mersin Idmanyurdu winger Nduka Ozokwo: "It was a good match and a good performance by us. Raheem played his part in a very good team performance.

"We've controlled the majority of the game and, even when the visitors had a little more possession just before we went 2-0 up, we've been fairly comfortable, the ex-Enugu Rangers star said.
