Brazil2014WCQ: African Scorers Chart So Far

Two Ethiopian players are among the five leading scorers so far in the African qualifying series for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, SavidNews reported on Sunday.

Getaneh Kebede and Saladin Said of Ethiopia join Islam Slimani of Algeria, Mohammed Sallah of Egypt and Bernard Parker of South Africa on the list of players who have scored five goals each as at Saturday, 7 Sept.
Only Parker has dropped out of the competition following the elimination of South Africa, host of the last edition of the four-yearly football extravaganza.
Overall, as of 7 September, 344 goals have been scored in 134 matches played in the African qualifiers.
Each of the 10 teams that made it to the playoff round will play two more matches, in October and November, to determine the five African representatives at the 2014 World Cup.
