Amobi aka "Chilavert" was one of the goalkeepers invited by coach Manu Garba-tutored Golden Eaglets in 2012.
However,he couldn't honour the invitation as he secured admission into the famous Nigerian Law School Abuja.
The soft-spoken lad started his football tutorials at Orient FC in 2005.He made waves,winning laurels and dislodging senior team-mates.
His natural talents was spotted by Zafe FC and Samba FC scouts.The young lad opted for Zafe FC,to get regular playing time.
Amobi has been a regular member of the University Of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN) and Inter FC of Enugu for three years.
He is also a former player of Great Achievers FC,a club he joined in 2009-2010, playing a couple of matches in his only season.
The shot-stopper represented UNN twice in the Nigeria University Games(NUGA),winning the Golden Glooves Award on both occassions.
The goal tender who turns 18 by November 2013 is a product to watch in the nearest future.
He reminds me of Emmanuel Daniel,who dislodged experienced goalies like Dele Ajiboye and Laide Okanlawon in the fold of Shooting Stars last season.
