Obaje Shows Gratitude To God For Important Goal

Joshua Obaje grabbed a timely equaliser for ASO Chlef but his goal only earned his side a point against USM Bel Abbes on Saturday.
The former Ajax Cape Town forward converted a second half chance to earn the spoils for his team at the Stade Mohamed Boumezrag.

The hosts fell behind twenty minutes into the match with Moses Tagana giving the visitors the lead.

But Obaje stepped up to dispatch a good team move to cap a brilliant individual performance, thus the game ended 1-1.

Chlef failed to build upon the momentum to ultimately drop vital points at home in the Algerian Ligue 1.

Mohamed Benchouia’s side are now placed 15th in the league with 13 points.

Obaje, who has also defended the colours of Warri Wolves wrote on his official facebook page, ''Thank you Lord for the goal, may your name be praised.''

In January 2014, coach Stephen Keshi, invited him to be a part of the Nigeria national football team squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship.

He helped the team to a third place finish after Nigeria beat Zimbabwe by a goal to nil.
