Nigeria Balotelli Close To Zvezda Move

Nigeria international Gbolahan Salami could wrap up his move to Serbian Super League side Crvena Zvezda after reports claims he has impressed officials of the club.

The 23-year-old forward is said to have justified himself and has convinced the Nenad Lalatović led technical crew to trust in his talents in the winter transfer window.

Popularly known as Red Stars Belgrade, the second placed outfit in the top flight division in Serbia, is yet to agree a transfer fee with Warri Wolves, the current team of the former Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars striker.

Salami has been tagged as a replacement for compatriot Adeola Dauda who moved to Vitesse last summer.

He was part of the Nigeria national under-23 football team during their failed attempt to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.

In January 2014, coach Stephen Keshi, invited him to be a part of the Nigeria national football team squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship.

He scored the only goal for the Home-based Eagles in their opening 2-1 loss to Mali. He was called into the squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and scored a late goal as a substitute against Congo, but Nigeria lost 3-2 at home.
