Akpoborie: Uzoenyi can make the difference for Nigeria in Brazil 2014

Jonathan Akpoborie has tipped Enugu Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi as a player capable of turning things around for Nigeria if picked for Brazil 2014.

The former Stuttgart star wasn't the first to notice Uzoenyi's phenomenal display - as there are many eyes on the former Stade Rennes winger who scored 3 goals in 5 games and grabbed three Man of the Match awards - but Uzoenyi might need such strong recommendations coming from former Super Eagles if he is to break into the squad full of players from good European leagues.

"Uzoenyi has played well so far in the ongoing Africa Nations Championship and most especially in the quarter-final battle against Morocco which Nigeria won.

"This definitely throws a lot of question as regards why Ahmed Musa has been playing ahead of him in the Super Eagles" Akpoborie said.

The ex international singled out Musa as the one to be replaced by Uzoenyi, stating that the CSKA winger can't be compared to Enugu Rangers man in terms of shooting accuracy.

"Uzoenyi is a more creative player and a more sensible player. If Uzoenyi is taken to the World Cup in Brazil, I see him becoming an instant hit. "Musa creates goals but his finishing has been poor. Before the last Africa Cup of Nations and even the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Musa had many chances but rarely buried them as expected of a player like him."
