Flamingoes boss Bala Nkiyu set to name Costa Rica 2014 provisional squad on Tuesday

Bala Nkiyu will name his provisional Flamingoes squad for the 2014 Costa Rica U17 Women's World Cup next Tuesday, an official of the team has revealed to futbalgalore.blogspot.com.

Peter Dedevbo's successor will announce his 25-player squad on Tuesday before the team embark on a training tour of Faro, Portugal.

The former Niger Tornadoes gaffer could have delayed naming the squad until the date fixed by FIFA, but has opted to choose it ahead of a training camp in Portugal and friendlies against some top European oppositions.

Several positions have question marks hanging over them with Joy Bokiri (Bayelsa Queens), Bukky Ogunnoiki (Pelican Stars), Rasheedat Ajibade (FC Robo), Tessy Biahwo (Delta Queens) and Cynthia Aku (Rivers Angels) all midfield contenders.

The wingers are buzzing and ready to deliver the tailor made passes. Rivers Angels starlet Aminat Yakubu and Pelican Stars youngster Uche Kalu are capable of destroying the enemies when called to duty.

The team's main weapon is the strike force. Expected to lead the line during the tour is powerful Chinwendu Ihezuo, who netted 8 goals in 16 appearances in the colours of Pelican Stars during the 2012/13 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL). Confluence Queens forward Ginika Ikeh has a huge role to play if she is picked for the tour.
