Bassey, Olaleye, Yahaya, Ogbuke, Emmanuel, Anjembe, Ajala raise the bar in Vietnam

It was a festival of goals at the Tam Ky Stadium as hosts Quang Nam fell 5-3 to visiting Hoang Ahn Gia Lia on Sunday.

Ex-Bayelsa United goalkeeper Akpan Bassey started in goal for Hoang, while Felix Ogbuke and Timothy Anjembe impressed too.

On the opposing side was former Kwara United danger man Yahaya Adamu, who was a menace to Hoang's defence line.

Bassey gave an assured performance, Ogbuke provided one assist, Anjembe and Yahaya scored one goal each.

Anjembe, a former Lobi Stars forward tops the goal-scorers chart with 6 goals, with Yahaya netting 2 goals since his arrival at the Asian country.

Samson Kayode Olaleye blasted a double at Hang Day Stadium as Ha Noi T&T eased to a 5-2 win in a V-League match-week 5 with Hai Phong.

The Nigerian-born forward cut inside to curl home a left-footed shot into the far corner for the opener. He struck a sweet volley in the second half.

Olaleye has scored 5 goals in 4 league games for T&T.

The victory ensured that the champions are still second on the log with 9 points from 4 matches, while the visitors have 6 points from 5 games.

Sunday Emmanuel nodded in a cross in the 82nd minute to seal a crucial 2-1 V-League win for Thanh Hoa away to An Giang. The Nigerian saw another headed effort kept out by Phan Van Santos in the 88th minute.

Former Dolphin midfielder Gbenga Ajala was on the losing side as he was on for 90 minutes.

Thanh remain on top with 13 points from 5 matches, but have played one more game than second placed T&T.
