Dikachi perform in derby draw

Al Gharafa Ladies had to settle for a point in their bid for a League title as the derby clash with Qatar SC Ladies ended goalless in a Qatar Women Premier League match played on Wednesday.

After a first half devoid of incident, Gharafa, who paraded Dikachi Uzor, Favour Uzor, Blessing Kalu and Soo Adekwagh were just about the better side after the break.

But it took until 78 minutes for one of Nigerians to unleash the game's only effort on target.

Qatar's only worthwhile opening came in a late scramble.

After the stalemate, futbalgalore.blogspot.com caught up with the number one custodian of Al Gharafa Dikachi Uzor and she expressed her views and satisfaction on the game.

“We have to take a bit of belief from this. A clean sheet and a point are encouraging signs from how we were when I walked though the door.

“We came here with the intention of trying to get three points and obviously it's not worked out like that, but we defended well, on a personal note a good one to keep a clean sheet.

“I was a little bit surprised by their formation. But it's up to us to break them down and we didn't have the right composure in the final third to break them down.

“We fought the battle of our lives and it's all right beating our chests and saying we've got to stand up and be counted, but we needed goals and I think a point has suited us,” Dikachi told futbalgalore.blogspot.com
