Bayelsa United striker relish Kondzo challenge

Bayelsa United striker Uche Ihuarulam, says his team-mates are not afraid of playing in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup against Congolese side, FC Kondzo, on March 1st at Sapele Stadium.

“We didn't qualify for the this year's continental competition to make up the numbers. We are aware they (Kondzo) have a good team, he declared.

Playing in the CAF competition will bring us a great opportunity to compete against tough sides as we also prepare for the commencement of the Premier league,” the 2011/2012 Nigeria National League MVP told a reliable source from Yenegoa.

“The team is aiming for a good tournament and finishing on the high in order to justify the huge financial commitment of the Bayelsa State Government.

“We understand that they have a high profile in their league and many of their players are experienced.

Without reservation, the fast striker believes they are overrated by the Congolese Press.

Bayelsa United will lock horns in the first round of CAF Second Tier Competition with Kondzo on 1st March.
