Osho: North Central Derby won't be easy

As the Nigeria National League, NNL enters week two across both groups, Kogi United Head Coach, Fatai Osho is fully prepared for his side’s duel with one of the traditional club side in the league, Kwara United in Ilorin on Saturday.

While admitting that the North Central derby will not be an easy one for his team, Osho noted that the tradition of his team’s tactics will not be affected.

While speaking with the club official website, Osho said “We are fully ready for Kwara United, we know it will not be an easy task to get something there, that is why we will not deviate from our own way of playing”

Coach Osho added that his team will not be carried away with the home win league opener 3-1 over Ranchers bees.

Aminu Abdulkadir hit a brace while Mayaki Ismail was also on target for Kogi united, Maika David’s goal was just a consolation for the Kaduna based side.

With lessons learned from that encounter with Ranchers, and other opening day results, Osho has however called on his team to remain focus and determined as the league progresses.

“Week one results have shown readiness of clubs for the ongoing season. Every team is taking the game serious, no room for complacency, distraction and mistakes. The players must be ready for every game, their mind set must be directed to every match.”

The former Remo Stars handler said his objectives this season to secure ticket to the elite league just as he commended the Kogi State Government for its support to the club.

“Every clubs’ focus is to make it to the upper cadre of the league, and we also have the same dream. I always tell my players, why wait for two, three years to do it when you have the chance now, we want to give it a first time shot, and with the commendable support from the government, management, supporters and fans, we believe its achievable”
