Kogi United FC of Lokoja defeated ABS FC, Ilorin 1-0 in a Pre-Season
friendly match played at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Thursday.
Jamilu Rilwanu converted a 32nd minutes penalty to give the Lokoja based club maximum victory.
The Coach Fatai Osho led team started the game with more attacking threat, but could not break the defence line of the jittery ABS side at the stroke of half an hour, Kogi Utd starting an attack from the left side and the resultant cross led to a foul in the 18-yard box.
Jamilu Rilwanu stepped forward to convert the resultant spot kick.
After the game, Coach Fatai Osho expressed satisfaction with his players' performance, but noted that there is more to do for him to produce a better team.
Chairman of Kogi Utd, Mallam Abdul Adama said he was not moved with the result, but believed that with time, the technical crew would produce a formidable team that will do well in the league.
Kogi Utd will on Friday travel to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State to continue with their preparation ahead of the new NNL season.
