UEA2013: Eaglets beat Asari Dokubo boys 4-2 in WC Warm-up

The Golden Eaglets continued with their impressive build up to the World Cup with a 4-2 defeat of the Abuja-based Amakson Football Academy on Sunday evening at the main bowl of the U.J. Esuene Sports
Stadium.

The star man for the Golden Eaglets was baby-faced midfielder, Musa Yahaya who grabbed a first half hat trick against a very resilient opposition.
Second half substitute, Nansel Selbol scored the other which incidentally was his first in the colours of the national team The curtain raiser came in the 5th minute from a pint-poise cross off a free kick by Chidiebere Nwakali but Success Isaac header ricocheted off the post; lurking Yahaya however got the job done with a glancing header.
Amakson pressed for an equaliser but were unlucky particularly in the 15th minute when Golden Eaglets’ captain Musa Muhammed had to scoop the ball after goalkeeper Abdulazeez Abubakar had been beaten.
Some 10 minutes after, the action was back at the other end with Success sending a pass across for Yahaya to finish off yet again.
Amakson were not deterred and their pressure on the Eaglets’ rear paid off when Chidiebere Nwakali tripped his shadow in the box for Solomon Dauda to convert the resultant penalty.
Despite playing with one man as a result of Nwakali’s red card, the Golden Eaglets fight on and
almost at the end of the first half, Yahaya completed his hat trick following a successful string of passes from Taiwo Awoniyi and Success.
But soon after the break, it was Amakson that pressed more.
Substitute, John Ogehi would soon waltz his way through the Eaglets defence to score a beautiful goal that was applauded by the fans.
Less than 20 minutes left, Selbol scored for Golden Eaglets to drawn the curtain on the match.
In the stand to enjoy the entertaining match were Honourable Godfrey Gaiya (House Committee on Sports’ Chairman); Honourable Patrick Ugbe (Cross River State Commissioner for Sport and Youth Development) as
well as his counterpart in the Ministry of Works, Honourable Tom Aggey who came along with his soccer-loving wife.
