Impressive Aluko continue to keep tongues wagging

Sone Aluko's Hull City won for the second successive weekend as they overcame West Ham United 1-0 at the KC Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A fresh air shot from Mohamed Diame led to a rapid counter-attack from the home side as Danny Graham chested Elmohamady’s ball into the path of Sone Aluko who in turn found Brady, but his effort from 18 yards was deflected over.

Former City loanee Mark Noble dragged a Diame cross wide from the edge of the box before Aluko’s free kick brought a good save out of Jaaskelainen at the other end.

Aluko had the ball in the back of the net shortly after the restart but the flag had already gone up for offside, the striker just a tad too eager to set off for Jake Livermore’s through ball.

In a rare break-out, Aluko spurned the chance to shoot with his right foot as he elected to cut back in onto his left, allowing the West Ham defence to close him out and at the other end, Vaz Te fired a free kick over the bar.

The Nigerian international made way for George Boyd in the 88th minute of play.

Hull City: Allan McGregor, Liam Rosenior, Curtis Davies, Abdoulaye Faye, Maynor Figueroa, Ahmed Elmohamady, Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore, Robbie Brady (David Meyler 80), Sone Aluko (George Boyd 88), Danny Graham (Yannick Sagbo 70).
