Ghana FA raves about TV deal for league

Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi expects the SuperSport TV deal to revolutionize the Ghana Premier League.

Nyantakyi is optimistic the trickle down effect of the league going global and high-quality production can be the turning point.

He wants clubs to take advantage of the marking opportunities to improve their stock to generate revenue.

The relationship between the Pay-TV channel and Ghana Football is for three years and it is reported to be worth US$ 2.1 million.

''It is going to give our league a wider international coverage and dimension, it will give it more viewership and attention which will expose it to more marketing opportunities abroad,'' said Nyantakyi.

''For the clubs this is the chance to showcase the talent we have here and the quality of football and the standard of play and advertise the clubs to potential partners that they can work with.

"This deal will enhance the value of the game in Ghana, the value of the players and market them to international clubs so the Super Sport deal with the FA is a breakthrough in broadcasting opportunities for the league and the clubs."
