A sympathy team from the Nigeria Football Federation has met with
injured players of Premier League champions Kano Pillars and also paid a
visit to the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.
“We met with the injured players, the other players and officials of the team on Sunday and expressed to them the sympathy of the Nigeria Football Federation and the Nigeria football family over the armed robbery attack on the team.
“On Monday morning, we met with the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje in his office, to convey the same message,” Ibrahim Gusau, chairman of the NFF Security Committee and leader of the team.
Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Kawu and Director of Competitions, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, were also in the delegation.
Players and officials of Nigerian champions Kano Pillars were attacked by armed robbers on the Abuja-Lokoja highway on Thursday, on their way to a season-opening Premier League match against Heartland FC in Owerri.
