Futball Galore Honours Matilda, Adama

Rivers Angels team manager, Mrs Matilda Otuene-Onyiloha was on Tuesday evening given an award by Futball Galore for her outstanding contribution towards the development of women football in Nigeria.


Following her undying love for sports especially women football, the hardworking woman was presented with an award during the Nigeria Women Football League Congress held at the Namet Suites in Abuja.

The award was to recognize her for her tremendous support and contribution towards the promotion of the Nigeria Women Football League and the various women national teams.

''I feel so privileged receiving this honourable award and I am really grateful to God, Rivers Angels FC, and the women football family because without their support and hard work, I would not have come this far in football. I would also like to congratulate the organizers Futball Galore for their effort and contribution towards promoting women football in Nigeria,'' she said.

The award was presented to her by Confluence Queens Supporters Club Chairman, Hon Moses Nagogo Bako, who hailed Matilda for her dedication and contribution to the upliftment of women football in Nigeria.

The award team made up of Wale Mustapha, Ojo Oluwatosin, Hakeem Olawale and Ademetan Abayomi also honoured Kogi United and Confluence Queens Chairman, Hon Abdul Adama for his unrelenting support and commitment to football in Kogi State. His passion and dedication to soccer has seen him highly rated by soccer followers in Nigeria.

Hon Adama expressed his gratitude towards Futball Galore crew for recognizing his achievements and commitments to the game.

''I am excited and proud to be recognised by Futball Galore. I'm elated and in happy mood. I promise to continue to contribute immensely to the promotion of football in this country,'' he added.

Osun Babes Chairman, Hon Akin Adio presented the award to him.

Editor-in-chief of Futball Galore, Ademetan Abayomi thanked the recipients of the awards and urged other administrators to emulate the brilliant works in the development of football in the country.
