Siasia: Dream Team VI Must Score Goals

Head coach of the Dream Team VI, Samson Siasia has harped on the need to beat visiting Zambia convincingly when they play in the first leg of the All Africa Games qualifier today in Abuja.

“We need to score goals in that game,” Siasia said. “I know we can score goals as we have proved in our last games but we need to score more goals this time.

“This is the first leg of the last hurdle and we must do better than we did here against Gabon. We have made some corrections and the boys are better now and we just hope we can put the ball in the back of the net as much as possible.”

The Nigerians brushed Gabon aside 6-1 on aggregate round to make the final round, but struggled as they beat the Gabonese 2-0 in Abuja to complete the rout.

And Siasia reckons they must perform better this time at home.

“We were a bit jittery playing at home the last time but the players understand the advantage they have playing at home now and hopefully we will make that count.”
