Pepsi
Football Academy Lagos rounded off weeks of intensive preparation on
Thursday at the Badagry Beach with a vow to crush the Barcelona Beach FC
team when they clash at Copa Lagos on Friday.
The training followed
series of friendly matches to adequately prepare the team for the task
ahead.
The Pepsi lads recorded mixed
fortune in the matches played, the Director of the Academy, Kasimawo
Laloko, is upbeat about the chances of his charges against the
highly-rated Barcelona team.
“We have a lot to prove and we are
representing not just Nigeria but the entire African continent. The best
place to speak is on the pitch, when we get to the pitch we will talk,”
Laloko said at the Eko Beach Soccer League which ended recently.
Other Nigerian beach soccer teams that will line up against Barcelona include Enyimba of Aba and Stationary Stores of Lagos.
Pepsi Academy, the oldest and biggest
football academy in Nigeria, said on Thursday they are committed to
again demonstrate leadership as it is the first academy in Nigeria to
play in the internationally recognised Copa Lagos beach tournament.
