Rangers forward Meshack wants League shield

Meshack Chukwubuikem believes Enugu Rangers can mount a serious challenge for the Globacom Nigeria Premier League title next season expected to kickoff on 24th February 2014, with the Flying Antelopes at home to Nembe City.

The young striker signed for The Flying Antelopes in the mid season transfer last last year after he wrapped up a move from Wikki Tourists.

He scored 7 goals and also made 5 assists, which earned him a one year renewal at the club.

Despite having a mixed season, Rangers managed to finish the season in the top-five.

After achieving a top-five finish, Meschack believes the team can now push on and mount a serious title challenge next season.

He also believes the fact that John Obuh is the manager shows the club is ready to end a barren spell of 29 years without a major trophy.

Meshack: "The hope is that this season Rangers will be at the top of the league with a sound tactician like Coach Obuh

"In the Globacom Nigeria Premier League, you have five, six, even seven top, top teams. It’s very difficult but I know that Rangers are one of those top teams who will be involved."

"It’s always good when good players come in. I don’t worry about a specific player. And it’s certainly not a problem.

"I’m strong enough and I have the qualities. With some good players joining us here in Enugu, we are on the right track," he said.
