Edwin Edem Okon, the current tactician of Super Falcons has shortlisted a star studded squad for the two-legged Namibia African Women Championship Qualifiers against Sierra Leone. The first leg has been fixed for 14th February 2014 at the 60,000 seater Abuja National Stadium.

A breakdown of the list shows that Rivers Angels has the highest contingents with 8 players closely followed by Delta Queens, who contributed 5 players.

Falconets players like Asisat Oshoala, Sunday Uchechi-Lopes and Ibijoke Sangonuga were all excluded due to the crucial qualifier against South Africa on 11th January 2014.

Desire Oparanozie, Sarah Michael, Ogonna Chukwudi, Onome Ebi, Queen Ejovwo, Joy Jegede, Gift Ele Otuwe, Rachael Ayegba, Rita Chikwelu, Chioma Nwankwo, Soo Adekwagh, Ijeoma Obi, Faith Ikidi, Helen Ukaonu, Francisca Ordega and some other foreign based players were not included as the coach decided to stick with a pool of domestic lads, futbalgalore.blogspot.com gathered from an insider.

The dark-skinned gaffer said he will apply the elimination by substitution approach before settling for his preferred 21-player squad.

"The players will resume camp on 13th January but I will still have to reduce the names down to the final 21 that will face Sierra Leone.

"No one is gauranteed shirt except those who will be exceptional during the camping exercise.

Namibia will host the 2014 edition of the tournament, of which Equatorial Guinea are the defending champions.

Top two teams in the tournament will pick the tickets to represent Africa in Canada 2015 senior women's World Cup.

"I have shortlisted 30 names to begin preparations for the encounter against Sierra Leone on 14th February 2014 in Abuja.
Others clubs that have players in the list are 2012/2013 Pool A league winners, Nasarawa Amazons, Police Machine, Ibom Angels, Pelican Stars, Adamawa Queens, Living Faith FC, Abia Queens, Osun Babes, Oshogbo Queens and Sunshine Queens.
