Finidi: I will manage Super Eagles in future

Majorca Youth team coach and former Nigerian international Finidi George says he is ready and available to work with any of the Nigerian youth teams.

Speaking exclusively to supersport.com at his Majorca base he says "it will be a great thing for me if in the future I am able to be pointed out as one of those who groomed players that represented Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup"

The former Champions League winner with Ajax Amsterdam believes that "there are many qualified ex-internationals like myself, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi and of course Keshi with the senior team that we have to be tapped into to produce the future internationals"

Finidi believes that Keshi has already proven that there is a lot of quality to develop our game ourselves as Nigerians. We need to begin to develop the youth teams to be able to sustain the great strides of the "Big Boss."”

He adds that: "in 7 or 8 years’ time many of those playing now in the Super Eagles will have to be replaced so it is important that there are good quality ones available to take their places. Only good grounding with good coaching can deliver this"

The man nicknamed "the Gazelle" in his Super Eagles days is not a fan of the winning culture at the age grade tournaments "it is not important the results of the age grade competitions - I know that Nigerians like to win but the most important thing is that young footballers are exposed to tournament football for the experience of it. This experiences will come in handy as they get into the senior teams".
